why eagles didn’t make playoffs?
Why America’s team didn’t make the playoffs?
Expectations for the Philadelphia Eagles were at an all time high heading into the 2011 season. Michael Vick was coming off an MVP type season and the addition of pro bowl free agents justified those expectations. As the season comes to it’s conclusion on Sunday, we explain several reasons why we are not going to Indianapolis.
- NFL lockout. The lockout by the owners enforced was more than about a financial issue. The lockout slowed the exponential growth the Eagles would have made during OTAs and training camp. The lockout hindered our progress and pursuit of Indy.
- Schedule. These are just a few of the games in which mysterious incidences occurred that would make the casual fan scratch their head. We have a strong suspicion that this person’s name starts with “R” and end with “oger.”
- Week 2 in Atlanta. Vick comes back in prime time to play his old team.
- Week 4 versus 49ers. Halftime lead of 20-3 and punching them in the mouth.
- Week 5. At Buffalo. Buffalo will be Los Angeles next team.
- Pennsylvania State University scandal. The indictment and arrest occurred prior to the week 9 match up versus the Bears. The public was rightfully angry at the horrific allegations. The NFL took immediate action and it lasted for a couple of weeks
- Red Sox/Braves choke syndrome. The NFL didn’t want a repeat storyline of the St. Louis Cardinals. If the Eagles were to have made the playoffs in the last week of the season that would have meant the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys would not have. The NFL offices are located in New York and the Cowboys are a dying franchise that needs a boost after their embarrassing Super Bowl XLV duties.
downtown wats
We got the opportunity to spend a few minutes in downtown Watsonville at the plaza. We were running thru downtown when we noticed Beck Street was closed to traffic. There were several booth set up ranging from Son of Italy to the Japanese American league.
We took a few photos to give a idea of what was going on. There was a line of children waiting to take a picture with Santa Claus. The center of the plaza is decorated with holiday lights and wreaths. The experience is likely the best this side of the Mount Madonna.
Email us or send us a link to your holiday photos, cards, videos, etc. Happy holidays.
road to indy
Sorry Miami
We should be but we’re not. It was your decision to schedule us week 13. We took over your stadium and began our march to Indy. Miami’s coach was to blame for getting in the way of destiny.
On Sunday we went from the honeymoon phase to playoff mode. The first 12 weeks gave our team and our players time to get to know each other. Strangers became family and it was on display versus Miami.
Next we play the New York Jets. We need to win out in order to give ourselves the opportunity of the playoffs. We need help from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday versus the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins on Sunday versus the New York Giants on Sunday.
We have faith that our team will reach the playoffs. We wanted to give you fair warning that the trip to Indianapolis in February is still as planned. We hope to see you there.

There we were. Watching the football games at Knuckles. America’s team disposed of the Miami Dolphins in impressive fashion during the early game.
The afternoon game featured the Denver Broncos versus the Chicago Bears. 0-0 at the half. Didn’t have to pay attention to the game until the Broncos were losing 10-0 with 5 minutes remaining. Then it happened. Tebow time.
Once Tenow created magic we then headed out to Applebee’s to settle in for Sunday Night Football between Roger’s New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Game was entertaining throughout. The QBs made big plays when they had to for the most part. #10 for the Giants lead the team back from a 12 point deficit to take the lead but gave Dallas plenty of time to answer
Dallas is down 3 so they need a field goal to tie or a touchdown to win. It took Dallas 4 plays to get to the Giants 29. This set up for a game tying 47 yard long field goal. Below is the reaction from Kookster.24 during the second attempt.
