We recently took a tour of the UFC gym that opened up in January 2010 in Concord, CA to check if this facility would offer an experience that isn’t provided at the local YMCA.
Our tour began on the first floor of the former CompUSA store in which a child care, free weights, machines and crossfit equipment surround the famous UFC octogan. Upstairs include treadmills, stairmasters, punching bags, martial arts room and a cardio room.
After the tour was completed, the saleman sat us into their office to discuss membership pricing. There are two plans. The “fitness” plan and the “ultimate” plan. Cost per month is $39 and $99, respectively. The “ultimate” give you access to anything the gym has to offer and to visit other UFC gyms (currently only 1 other in the LA area).
We’ve concluded that this gym is not what we are looking for at this time. Our $20 a year membership at 24 Hour Fitness is still the best deal in town.
